Pastor Johnnie McCray cannot remember a time when he was not absorbed in gospel music. At the tender age of four, McCray began singing melodies to inspire the masses.  Now, some thirty years later, gospel is still the Pastor’s passion. 

McCray was tapped in 1994 by WDMT-FM 97.9 in Eufaula, Alabama as a gospel announcer.  He has served as program director of WQLS-AM 1210 in Ozark, Alabama since 2002.  When away from the airwaves, McCray is the pastor of two churches, Mt. Carmel Missionary Baptist Church of Troy, Alabama, and Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church in Daleville, Alabama. 

He is a lead vocalist of the Spiritual Jubilees of Troy, Alabama, whose music ministry is a favorite among the region. Pastor McCray and his queen, Janel, are parents of five children
