Dionne Anderson-Whetstone
Assistant
Secretary
If
your spiritual appetite is hearty, your palette will be pleased to satisfaction
with the feast served up for “Bread of Heaven” on WXVI-AM 1600 Sunday afternoons
with Dionne Anderson-Whetstone.
The Birmingham native received her formal
education in the Birmingham Public School System and later earned a Bachelor of
Arts in Broadcast Journalism from Alabama State University in 1995. Later that
same year, she was tapped by WXVI-AM as an announcer and has remained a part of
the 1600 family for 11-years.
Anderson-Whetstone is a local promoter who
showcases unsigned talent from the regional area. Away from the airwaves, her
number #1 job and greatest pleasure comes through her son, Tyler Emanuel. A
member of Freewill Missionary Baptist Church where Reverend Edward J. Nettles is
the pastor, she firmly believes that with “God, all things are possible. If you
got the faith, then God’s got the power.” On Sundays, Anderson-Whetstone keeps
the table set and there’s always a feast going on.
